The argument that a holiday maker might see what your doing and "give it a go" is absurd. If I were to watch someone bungee jump, wait for them to pass, and then "give it a go" with a bit of bungee cord I found then people would put my death down to natural selection. This is no different to any other extreme sport. Keep on enjoying it sensibly! I think you guys should be able to jump off whatever you like. I have checked out Pulpit Rock before as Portland Bill was a favourite destination of mine for rock climbing when I was a kid. However other spots around the Bill such as Red Crane, given care and good local knowledge, are much safer. I even have a short film of a piggyback jump there c1950!
