Hey guys,

I never heard about this until today's article on The Times. I'd like to suggest a site for you to try if you have the guts...
Check this link on Google maps:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=ciolo+italy&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.201341,23.466797&ie=UTF8&t=k&layer=x&ll=39.843979,18.38588&spn=0.007101,0.011458&z=17

It's situated on the tip of the heel of the Italian boot. It's a kind of remote place otherwise great for seaside holidays if you're not up to the challenge it offers..

Good luck!!

Enjoyed the article a lot. Why the sport is called tombstoning beats me. For over 30 years my family, and generations before been 'rock-jumping' in a particularly beautiful spot in Mallorca. Advantages are no tides, deep, deep water crystal clear water and sheer cliffs without underwater overhangs! Disadvantages can be the heat and the effect of drinking too much salt-water, so we always tow a gallon of fresh water over to the cliffs with us. We never realised it was called something as exciting as 'Tombstoning' in other places!

We have a 'blowhole' formed by centuries of winter wave action. We jump from the roof of the rock formation, about 40ft down into the centre, dropping down into the water into a 50ft-deep cone-shaped rock formation. Gives the moray eels a fright, and any guests we drag along to take a look!
